Tennis Court Lighting Requirements: Precision for Performance

Effective tennis court lighting ensures visibility, safety, and fair play. Key requirements include:Illuminance: 300–750 lux (horizontal) depending on competition level (recreational to professional).Uniformity: Max/min ratio ≤1.5 to eliminate shadows and ensure consistent ball tracking.Glare Control: UGR <22 with full-cutoff fixtures and asymmetric optics to protect players’ vision.Vertical Illuminance: ≥200 lux for depth perception during fast-paced rallies.LED systems (5,000–6,000K color temperature) are ideal, offering energy efficiency, durability (IP65+), and flicker-free operation. Mount fixtures 8–12 meters high, angled inward at 30°, and spaced 6–8 meters apart. Compliance with ITF or national standards ensures optimal playability and broadcast readiness.

Tennis Court Lighting Specifications

Professional tennis courts require 500–750 lux illuminance with a uniformity ratio ≥0.7 to ensure consistent visibility. Opt for LED fixtures (4000–5000K color temperature) mounted 8–12 meters high, angled at 25°–30° to minimize glare. Prioritize anti-glare optics and flicker-free operation, complying with ITF/EN 12193 standards. Ensure 100% coverage with <20% vertical illuminance for ball tracking. Energy-efficient designs should reduce spill light to adjacent areas.
